It took me a few weeks I think to not feel anything. I asked my Dr. he said I
could have you take no flush, but that is not as effective as the reg. kind.
I started on 250mg and soon to 500mg once a day--Then as time went on I forgot
the flush because it did not come...until I forgot to take my pills when I was
on vacation...wow, here came the flush, just as big as the first day...so you
need to continue taking the niacin to be effetive. But next day I could hardly
feel it.
It will take a short while to notice the flush getting less & less. Like a few
days. But soon youll look fw to your own little flush. Its good for you and you
can feel it working, (the flush)

  hi tel

how many mg's should one start out with? and as pat said how long should it
take before the reaction isnt so severe?

  thanks
  chad

It takes continued use, same time, every day or close to it and before long
you can increase your mg's...I am up to 6,000 split am & PM...Plus that much
Cayenne Pepper each am & Pm.
The flush is caused from you small capillaries opening up and letting more
blood flow in place you never had good circulation ...you may find great health
benefits if you keep it up. Your lungs and heart & Brain need good blood
flow. Like Viagra increases blood flow, get it?

Well, I finally decided to start niacin since my cholesterol and
triglicerides are a bit high. Found 100 mg pills ...there were 250 and 500mg
at the other two stores. I took one and after just a few minutes I was really
surprised. I never had heard of the extreme -ness of the reaction, I just
thought one would blush. I started feeling hot prickly fire from shoulders up.
Eventually it went down my arms and on my legs. I was bright red like a
sunburn. After the heat and burning ebbed, it was still prickly and itchy. How
long does it take before it doesn't react so severly?

             Pat
