I hit the wall not long ago myself. (SIMS 1.8b8 mostly web admin)This is what caused me to finally use RBL lists. I cleaned up my local list a bit but in checking just now I see I have 814 lines, mostly ranges, some quite large. This points up an issue mentioned a couple months back. I don't remember now if it was Bill Cole or Steve Linford, I dont' remember if it was here or on NANAE. But it concerned the likelyhood of local lists ever releasing reformed IPs, closed relays/proxys, etc. It's not gonna happen. The chance that I'll ever go thru that list of 800+lines and retire qualified candidates is zilch. The argument that a well run, publicly available blacklist(s) is preferable to this system is compelling.
