Actually some phones (like polycom firmware 3.3) have the ability to reload their config without reboot.
What he wants is an option in sipxconfig (global) to "uncheck" restart phones after projecting a profile. System>Preferences>sipXconfig>enable/disable restart phones after generating a profile (this does not exist). What I have not seen is "how" the phone knows to do this in either instance, if it is not rebooting because sipxconfig sends a boot message to the phone ticking it to restart so the phone knows there is new profile parameters. What he has not described is "what" the provisioning server sends to the phone to tell it "pickup new config and reload without rebooting". Does that make sense?
