OpenStage phones are able to change settings without the need of a reboot. A special server implementation is needed that is able to push the settings directly to the phone.
David is working on this: http://track.sipfoundry.org/browse/XX-8849 I added a link to the documentation of the server in jira. Snom phones also offer the ability of updating most of their settings without a restart. You can tell the phone within the notify that it should get the new settings but not restart: NOTIFY sip:<user>@<dsthost> SIP/2.0 To: sip:<user>@<dsthost> From: sip:sipsak@<srchost> CSeq: 10 NOTIFY Call-ID: 1234@<srchost> Event: check-sync;*reboot=false * **I think that polycom implemented this in a similar way?
