Actually, the backup and restore process is pretty cool. The backup creates a .dat file for each table that can be restored one by one with the copy command. I don't really think it is a 'corruption' issue, it really feels like a disconnect between DB values and some XML stored values. Can be considered corruption, but seems like something that would be fixed with an edit, if I only knew what to edit. It will be an interesting weekend.
