Fyi, here was the discussion I was referring to: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg10068.html -----Original Message----- From: "Matthew Kitchin (Public)" <[email protected]> Date: Fri, 3 Dec 2010 15:28:24 To: Discussion list for users of sipXecs software<[email protected]> Reply-To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [sipx-users] Call Forwarding
Agreed. You can enable it for polycom phones, but it will only work if the call is forwarded to an internal extension. If you forward it to an external number and the call comes in from an external number, it will fail. I think I summarized the issue correctly. I'm not at a PC, but if you google my email address and sipx and forward, you should see a thread where I tried this early this year. Your life will be easier if they use the web portal. -----Original Message----- From: "Worley, Dale R (Dale)" <[email protected]> Sender: [email protected] Date: Fri, 3 Dec 2010 10:05:16 To: Discussion list for users of sipXecs software<[email protected]> Reply-To: Discussion list for users of sipXecs software <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [sipx-users] Call Forwarding ________________________________________ From: [email protected] [[email protected]] On Behalf Of Roman Gelfand [[email protected]] Is it possible to forward calls using phone rather than web portal? _______________________________________________ It is, if the phone supports it, but forwarding from the phone can produce bad user experiences in some situations. (At the moment, I can't remember what they are, but we've wrestled with the problem on and off for some years.) Have people forward from the web page.
