I don't believe it's a bug. If you go into User / Caller ID there is a section for putting in a unique caller ID on a per user basis. These users are assigned as lines on a phone.
"Externally visible user Caller ID. If it is not specified the gateway will create a Caller ID based on the caller's extension and additional gateway parameters" When you place a call from a phone - A caller ID is sent to the gateway. And the gateway is sending a caller ID to your ITSP. IS it one and the same throughout the packet captures? I can confirm for you that I have successfully placed a caller ID on Users on many systems, and when they make calls on their phones, the correct caller ID is sent. I believe you have a configuration issue either with a User and their resulting line on a phone, or a gateway. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Roy Walker Sent: Monday, January 03, 2011 9:18 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [sipx-users] Caller-id settings not working Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Organization: SipXecs Forum In-Reply-To: <[email protected]> X-FUDforum: 08063afcdd00a6e76393c5b9527381e8 <55626> Message-ID: <[email protected]> Tony, No, specifying the Caller ID ONLY on the user gives me 1+extension. Todd, You lost me... you are thinking the Polycom phone has something to do with the outbound Caller ID being sent? The logs show the EXACT same thing as the receiving end gets. I am baffled how I can be the only person to run into this... perhaps a new bug?
