Is their handoff ethernet or pri? We get PRI's here for 650'ish (including inbound calls free, 6000 minutes outbound LD, 100 DID # block) per month. 23 bearer and 1 D channel. You can strip it down with less options for 480 per month. When AT&T knocks on my customers doors I show them the online stuff where people are down for a week with flex. I know comcast also does a lower cost pri, but their handoff IS a PRI.
We typically install a Patton 4960, and yeah, inbound and outbound faxes are no problem if you have the right stuff either.
