Hmmm... In my configuration, I have two lines defined; the first with three
appearances and the second with two, then one speed dial with BLF. The speed
dial with BLF is defined in the settings for the first line. I'm not varying
from the default configuration very much, if at all.
I am running an older firmware but a newer bootROM: BootROM 4.2.2.0710 and
Firmware 3.1.3.0439 split.
I'm not an expert on the Polycom firmware and bootROM versions but, maybe your
bootROM version is the culprit? Anyone else have any thoughts?

Paul, is there anything that needs to be enabled on the group configuration in
SipX to enable the ring for the applied phone?
I have a 650 configured with 1 Line and then multiple speed dials with presence
(BLF).
I went into Settings -> Basic --> Ring Type --> Attendant Calls and selected a
ring.Went back and confirmed.
I then called from a different phone (different extension/user) to phone that I
have a BLF for. I get the notes next to the BLF and it flashes green, but no
attendant ring.
Any Config Server settings for the phone itself need to be completed? What
firmware and Bootrom are you using? I am using 3.2.6.0314 and bootrom
3.1.6.011.

That's odd. I have a ring set for Attendant Calls and it works perfectly.
You weren't, by chance, testing by calling from the same phone that you set the
Attendant Calls ring type? If you are on the phone, the lines with the BLF
will not ring. However, if your are off the phone, the Attendant Call ring
will occur whenever a call comes in on the BLF monitored line.

This didn't appear to make a difference when testing. I set a ring for the
"Attendant Calls" and then did a test call to a line that I have a BLF for.
There was no audible ring, just flashing.

I will experiment with this. I am fine manually setting on the phone if I have

Not sure if you can push this out, but, on the phone if you go to:
Menu>Settings>Basic>Ring Type
It should have an option called “Attendant Calls” and you can set it to any of
the ring types available on the phone.

Subject: [sipx-users] BLF Audible Notification
All,
Do you know if it is possible to get a BLF to make an audible notification to
get attention of someone who monitors a line? Some people cannot hear the other
phone ringing. The old phone system (cisco) had an option to make the BLFs tone
when they rang to get attention. I am trying to find a balance between having a
line key and a BLF key. The line keys work for ringing and getting calls,
however, they do not know when the line is busy unless I enabled shared line. I
have been not using shared line because I have noticed weird issues with this
feature enabled. We have migrated people to BLFs and they are fine using them
for pickup, however, they complain now that they do not know the line is
ringing unless they stare at their phone,
He had to give one person both line and BLF for the same person.... trying to
avoid this type of setup. I forgot how bad the users can get. User NOT LIKE
Change....
We are running firmware 3.2.6.0314 and bootrom 3.1.6.011. Polycom 650s.
