Hi, I used to really love Skim. I still do. But I have moved to Preview. I really want to ask, has Skim considered becoming merely an alternative PDF viewer? That is to say, to save annotations just like Acrobat and Preview within the PDF. Yes you can embed notes or convert notes to Skim but that is an extra step.
Is there a reason skim continues to mainly prefer annotations in its own format? Saving them internally is really the most portable method. It makes syncing between devices, moving between platforms, … so much easier. I've moved to mostly reading PDFs on my iPad and so use Preview for annotations since I can easily sync and continue reading wherever I am. With iCloud and perhaps real Mac support with a future 10.8, that seems to me the most transparent way. Somehow I hesitate to continue discussing this since I get the impression Christian is sometimes not so helpful to new users and discussions of things he might feel have been talked about already. He'll probably just come in and say "no not gonna happen."
