Sander: I have just tried an experiment to install a new catalogue from scratch. My project involves near stars, so I downloaded the Gliese Catalogue from the "Additional Catalogues" page and extracted the zipped file to the "cat" folder in CdC. When I went to the Preferences>Catalogues and objects parameters dialogue and selected the Catalogues tab, there was no sign of the Gliese there. I tried to Add it and the programme seemed to be looking for a Catalogue Header file - of which I could find no sign. I have tried to add other catalogues with a similar result. I feel sure I must be missing something or doing something wrong. Does this experience make solving my problem easier or more difficult? Sorry to be a pest.
