Hi Stephen and others. First of all, when the welcome screen appears, press
Tab until you get to the "Display welcome screen at startup" checkbox. If
it is checked, press the space bar to uncheck. Now press Alt+F4 to exit the
welcome screen.
Secondly, to prevent Skype from showing up in the task bar, open the Skype
window and go to Tools/Options/Advanced Settings. Press Tab until you find
"Keep Skype in the task bar while I'm signed in." Press Enter to uncheck
the box, press Tab until you get to the Save button, and press Enter or the
space bar.

Hi listers:
I've run into an interesting problem and I am not sure how to deal
with this. I am running a 64-bit OS Windows system with Skype version
4.2...
Here's my question; the Skype login screen appears on the tab list
whenever I am not signed into Skype...I attempt to close out of this
screen...by selecting Close under Skype menu as well as Alt+F4...
It appears that Skype still remains in the tab list as when I press
Alt+TAB to jump through my running apps, it is still in the tab order. I
am going to take a leap here and ask or perhaps answer my own question and
say would the way I would solve this issue be to not have Skype start at
computer boot-up?
