More the latter, unfortunately. So much so that I actually bought a new
disk, installed 6.1 from scratch, grabbed the required upgrades and _then_
restored my configs and programs from my old disk.

It was the only way I felt safe upgrading. 6.0 seemed to be a _lot_ more
reliable.
