There is one book that is not expensive. Learning LaTeX by SIAG (Society
for Industrial and Applied Maths). Its around $17.50 something and small
- just covers the essentials as an introduction.
If you wanted to teach your Secretary LaTeX that would be THE book.
The books by Goossens and by Lamport are reference ones and more $.
Try the guides online (as posted by others) and prob Everything Linux
will have the SIAG one. If you have asked about LaTeX I am sure you will
be hooked.
