It's pretty hard the first time, but once you know what it wants to do, it's easy to do. I have rpms of RT3 and the supporting CPAN modules that aren't in RH, and run it with mod_fastcgi. There were no other ticketing systems when I looked, RT is the best of a bad bunch, imho.
