I'm not sure of how EC is handling SB's. But, in the past when I have sent gear back to EC, whether it be an amp or a radio, they have always sent new replacements or given me a credit without an argument. It's one of their strong points as a distributor. They usually are top notch to deal with. If EC is doing repairs or fixes and sending them out again, that sounds like a special deal/situation between them and SB. I myself never want someone else's repaired units, I always want new, regardless if the unit is DOA or dies within the warrantee period.
One thing to note however is that on the other lists, it's been discussed many times that if it is not DOA but within the warrantee period Alvarion. Trango and others all send repaired units out as replacements. It's been debated and it seems the response by most is they want new units not repaired units, but it's the way it is. The way I handle defective units at this time from SB's is to toss them in a big rma box and replace the unit with a different manufacturers radio. I'll wait until the problems with faulty hardware/software gets resolved and then decide what to do with them. I don't feel like going for 'round two' of the battle of a faulty cpe with a customer.
