There has to be a better process to all this to keep things in line and not
confusing.

THIS IS NOT A SLAM TO ANYONE OR ONE COMPANY JUST OBSERVATIONS THAT A DONKEY
CAN SEE..

At DEI (viper car alarms) we had users (car alarm shops) send in a bad unit
we scrapped it drilled a hole in it and tossed it and sent them a new one as
long as it was under our lifetime warranty :-) Now if it was an out of date
product and we had some out of date units that were good we shipped them
that but if it was out of date (very old) then we would ship them a
comparable unit free of charge but they would have to buy the new harnessed
to install it ($10) so that was still not bad.

It just seems SB makes a decision spur of the moment without thinking it
through (this is from the outside looking in) Did anyone get any E-mail on
this forum or from SB stating they would be swapping out chips to correct
the heat issue? I sure didn't or if I did from this forum I deleted it as I
get way to dang many which brings some more heart ache this site needs to
have a archive chat forum etc like http://www.dslreports.com or something
similar so we can go back and read past threads if needed I cant keep up
with one thread and then all of a sudden someone decides to change the
subject that was originally being discussed.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE lets get this process corrected this is the 10
millionth time we have asked and you nod your heads and say yes yes we know
we have fixed the process yet you go and mess with something else and don't
tell us the end users as to what you are up to. Its almost like you don't
want to tell us and keep us in the dark until there is a problem and they
you make a statement that there is no problems people in the field are
working great its only you until the whole world starts to chat about it
here on this forum then you acknowledge some kind of problem you just don't
know what? then you say OHH yea we did swap out the chip and just didn't
tell anyone but here this firmware will fix it until we decide to stick our
little fingers in there to screw something else up. STICK WITH ONE FIRMWARE
THAT WORKS FOR ALL I for one don't stick one set of firmware on some radios
and then a different firmware on others I keep things consistent which you
have to it gets to confusing if you don't

I am tired of getting my PEE PEE smashed in the door by my customers when
things screw up because of an out of control process! What is the chain of
command there at SB?? someone needs to be held accountable for all these
decisions to do stuff without notifying us in the field.

That's just the thing. If the new units they sound fail constantly then
I don't think the RMA's are going to work any better. I can't play
musical air bridges and keep swapping them in and out. It just worries
me that I purchase a new protect and it doesn't' work so I can only
wonder about the RMA's.

Our opinion is that as long as the unit works (and continuous to work),
and
is covered by a warrantee, who cares if it is new, refurb, or returned.
