HAHA I think its just plain stupid that you cant make all your changes on
ALL the tabs then hit save and have it take it. But what's is so F up about
it is when you want to say change to one mode or another you have to make
one change at a time so it requires a truck roll on the opposite end. I.E
you change from AP mode to client mode and your screwed because you cant
change the SSID at the same time etc etc Totally not thought out on SB part
but they will tell you to use their wonderful tool called simple deploy
heheh which is just the lamest tool when it comes to having set different
features to individual radios. This does not work well because you still
have to hit the stupid reset button to revert back to the default settings
should something get hosed up..

There are a lot of wonderful features yet there are some real lame ones too
this being the biggest. The other one is when logged into the radio via
wireless and you want to do a site survey and you hit the button it reboots
the radio! Seems like anything you do reboots the radio WHY? who knows maybe
its because if you don't it will lock up or some strange crap like that. I
would love to be able to not have it do that each and every time especially
if you are trying to keep an eye on the stats and it wipes them out.

LAME LAME LAME

Subject: [smartBridges] Disabling Tabs in SimpleMonitor

I am sooooo upset right now that I can scream.

I have two aPPOs set up as AP/client. I currently am at the client end
of a "PtP" link. I want to switch back to wireless bridge mode. There is
no way to do this because the Wireless Bridge tab is unavailable in
SimpleMonitor, and I can't set the MAC address of my local aPPO in the
remote aPPO's MAC field. I switched to wireless bridge mode on the
remote unit, hoping that the MAC address would be stored (since I
previously had these two units in wireless bridge mode.

This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Why should I have to visit
and physically connect to each aPPO to switch operating modes!!!

Now I have to drive an hour to the other end, get into the location
(which is not open on Sunday), and physically connect an ethernet cable
to the unit. Isn't this "wireless" networking! It seems to me that the
tab should not be disabled, and should allow you to put in a MAC address
and save it before switching operating modes.

Jason

P.S. If anyone reminds me to bring a crossover cable with me, I'll kick
'em in the nuts. :)
