Snow, rain, and ice do not affect it.  The most I have heard is that heavy wet snow 
sittting on trees will cause problems if you are shooting through a tree, but regular 
precipitation does not have any affect.

We're in Ohio and several of my customer's used the outdoor units.  Last winter was a 
rough winter for us and no one had any problems.
