SDC could easily be described as doing the same thing: when you make a provisioning request, you ask for a certain amount of resources and your instance lands "somewhere". The physical resources are abstracted away by the provisioning layer and the OS-based resource controls. This does, indeed, allow "fault-tolerant and elastic..." blah blah blah. Can you tell us more about what you're trying to do? Any maybe what Mesos does for you in this use case the SDC (and/or some combination of SDC+Docker) doesn't? What would you add to or change in SmartOS for this purpose? ------------------------------------------- smartos-discuss Archives: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/184463/=now RSS Feed: https://www.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/184463/25769125-55cfbc00 Modify Your Subscription: https://www.listbox.com/member/?member_id=25769125&id_secret=25769125-7688e9fb Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
