This has happened here too. It's really annoying and there is no way  
to prevent the download, as far as I can see in preferences.
Because we are using Macs I don't think it's an issue just bin the  
stuff.
  But it is a surprise that a download can begin without any other  
action than navigating to a web page.
Where are the interweb vigilantes when you need em.
  It's a bit like someone dropping something unsavoury through your  
letterbox, stop it it is very rude.
