Another 'problem' (at least until I have found the answer) is that whereas on my iMac running 10.6.8.1 I can combine 2 pdfs and then Save as a new document, that doesn't so far seem to work in Lion. Have a Genius Bar app tomorrow and will hopefully get an answer then (and will ask about your problem Tony if no answer has been forthcoming in the meantime).
