Hi Henri,

(a) a Soekris box isn't a "traditional" PC, is it?;)

(b) the system shouldn't freeze, it should just boot but without any
    visible output. If it does freeze, the behavior has changed in
    some recent version. You can test that by giving it some time to
    boot and trying to log in over SSH.
