I have 6 net5501 boxes that crash frequently (every 1-5 days) whenever I use a mini-pci wifi card. I have tried with 4 different 12v high quality power supplies of 2A, 5A, 6.6A and 8.5A. I have also tried 2 different types of wifi cards: Atheros AR5008 and Broadcom BCM4318. They crash while being idle. I don't think its the VIA ethernet driver problem because I have also hit this one and it only happens under heavy network usage, my crashes happen even without any kind of activity. If I remove the wifi cards they all work perfectly fine. The CPU temperature reported by lm_sensors is around 60 celsius. The wifi chipset is really hot to the touch, so my theory is that maybe the wifi card is not responding anymore and this hangs the whole system. Any ideas?
