Not sure what you mean with changing I/O ports... if you use e.g. the Audiophile 192, which has a dynamic range 8 dB better than the Delta 44 (but just 2 input and 2 output channels) there is nothing to change (it doesn't have a mic input, similarly to the Delta 44). In any case, the time needed to change the working parameters of a sound card is comparable to the switching time of an antenna change-over relay, so, IMHO, this is a moot issue.
