If you want to protect yourself, learn programming.  It'll free you from being 
a slave to applications and their trendy nature....or at least give you a 
buffer.

Uhhhhh...I guess not.  But for me...as I've been getting more into games and 
Unity...it opens up a whole new range of possibilities.   I'm now thinking of 
building "smart objects" in Houdini maybe to bring into Unity.  Something I 
can't do with Soft.  Just trying to pick the right path of what I dedicate my 
time to next.
