While surely a number of good points can be made, as soon as things
*descend* or *degrade* into dialog that can be qualified as
disrepectful, (even when confronting disrespectful behavior) then you
can be sure that consideration of *any* points (or any constructiveness
in criticism) will proportionately go down the drain.

I think Mihai is showing what everyone has inside, in this moment. And
he's showing what users (people generally) understand when promises
are made and destroyed soon after (also when made various times and in
public).
And, even if different ways of talking could be used in discussion,
there are very few ways to let pass how strong a feeling is, despite
the words.
It's thank to the strong passion in showing what the damage has been
that AD changed the licensing policy after really few days. If people
would enough silently accepted that, AD would never changed it.
If they really did ponderate the killing of Softimage, why they didn't
ponderate to not create that stupid (before today) statement about
subcription, licensing after 2016 etc? Simply because they can't. And
it shows more the brains behind their decisions.
The observation of how you can trust someone who, after it's company
did a such dumb thing and still talking for that company, is not
something to undervalue.
Everyone have to eat and whatever, and it's ok, but it means that
moral and ethic can just be canceled in discussion, and sure you
cannot trust anyone anymore (in this case for what concern AD).
So, don't stay there in underline a language, then. This is the
smallest problem.
Of course those are all lies. With Softimage losing money? They never
really tried to push Softimage. They say now "...we are listening"?.
Why never listened in 5 years the request to show Softimage more? Not
even a simple "Softimage" link in the drop down menu on the website.
They bought Softimage to kill it (everyone..EVERY user from every
different software knew that since years) and grabbing its technology.
But now thay are asking to SI users what to put in Maya to make it
more powerful and appealing for us. Yeah...."thanks"?..
The reality is they have fear. Maybe some kind of meteor passing above
the AD HQ let them awake a bit. They saw like companies like SideFX
are really welcoming SI users and willing to improve their product in
the respect of SI users suggestions. And I'm glad of it.
One friend of mine told me an Autodesk employes said the internal
discussion was "there can be only one". The strange thing is that this
AD man was saying it was more probable to be 3DSMax. Well things change.
For what it worths, I really think AD is preparing the 4th 3D product
to rule them all. Just speculation, of course, like it was the
Softimage death, some years ago...
