annd its not all perfect in Softimage Partitions and overrides land.
problems can arise in very complex scenes where changing passes - and
having all the overrides applied individually to the scene elements
can be a real pain to wait for.

talking hours not minutes.

perhaps an offline mode to edit partitions then a 'commit' or a more
optimized apply / reapply materials and override
