> Golan stepped into the transporter room. It was the same one that they had
arrived only a few days earlier. Ambassador Ra'aj was already in the
Transporter and was talking quietly with the Klingon officer manning his
station at the console.
She turned to face Golan when he entered. "Ambassador Dulath, it would seem that we
will be soon heading down to the planet."
Golan nodded. He was growing less hopeful about this mission as time went by. He
wasn't sure which bothered him more, the fact that the mission could fail or the fact
that Tremea D'amondra was still missing and nothing was known about her.
NaTral joined the Cardassian and the Aqualish ambassadors.
The last two people to arrive in the quickly filling room were the Klingon Ambassador
and the Captain Klothos. It was clear that they had taken a chance to renew their
acquaintance since the group's last encounter on the Bridge.
"Valtris, I wish you the best of luck on your mission," he stated simply.
She simply nodded in response. "I am sure that we will need more than luck. I have a
feeling that dealing with this General A'amon is going to require the skills of all
the representatives of the Council."
"I am sure that you are all up to the challenge," he replied.
"Thank you very much, Captain," replied Ambassador Ra'aj.
"I do have one other thing that I would like to do before your team departs," said
Klothos. He walked over to the transporter console and picked up a box. "I have some
concerns about you all being planetside. I have my doubts about your safety."
He opened a box and took out a small device. "This is a transponder and emergency
communicator. You will be able to reach us in orbit if any of you are in trouble with
this. We will remain in orbit until you are ready to return to Spaceock," he said as
he proceeded to hand the devices out.
It was an onimous sign that such a device was needed, but NaTral accepted it. There
was no sense in foregoing safety at this point.
