>The Klingon Commander nodded before activating the transporters. The ambassadors all felt the familiar tingle of the transporter as it took their cells and transported them down to the designated coordinates on the planet's surface. They had arrived on Pacifica.

A proper-looking delegation of Venasians stood waiting at the transporter pad, which was in acool, stone alcove of the maincompound building.Sunlightdanced through the large-paned windows onto aquietlybubbling fountain. One thing that could be said about the Venasians -all their structures were designedwith beauty and water in mind, evenwith the Venasiansecurity force present. Nearby also stood thediplomatic security details. As the delegation materialized, Secretary V'nquera approached to greet them. "Gentle tides, and welcome to Pacifica. I am Secretary V'nquera, diplomatic liason here on Pacifica," said the slender, pointy-nosed Venasian, "I apologize ahead of time for the informality of your quarters;we had little time to prepare for your visit."

He handed each anPADD withinformation on its screen. "Here are the details of your quarters, as well as the security whichhas been arranged for you and a map of the complex. Each door is encoded torecognizea retinal scan asprovided for us by your governments.A proposed schedule foryour next few days is also logged onto your PADD. I have suggested a meeting tomorrow at 1300 local time. Each of your securityteams have been pre-briefedas to the location of your quarters, so they might take you there directly.Information on amenities and local recreation is available on the terminal within those quarters. While you are staying with us, you are of course welcome totake advantage of all recreational areas; we only ask you remain out of restricted areas, which have been clearlymarked. Your securityis also aware of those locations. If you have any problems, please contact the receptionist at the Venasian Annex, Jerna A'amon."

"Do you have any questions, or concerns?"
Golan Dulath stepped forward to speak for the group. "It would seem that you and your government has anticipated our needs quite well. I would like to know if we have access to the communications networks so we will be able to communicate with our governments?"
Valtris was pleased to hear the question. She, too, had concerns that they would be considered as prisoners rather than governmental representatives.
