"Commander, my client was by no means directly involved with the incident.
Most of what your security guard overheard was mere conjecture and gossip of a braggart caught up in his principlies, but he was a small, lowly person in the Brotherhood organization. Even if you go after him whole-hearted you will not be able to get him on advanced charges." "What you and your client seem to keep forgetting here, Ms. Moiraine, is that people died here on the station and down on Earth because what happened. Just the fact that your client knew it was going to happen and did not say anything is enough to put him away for an awful long time." K'Tael wanted to reach and stangle Jorgenson, but that was not the way things were done. "This is a very serious case, Ms. Moiraine. I am not sure that your client understands that," he continued as he glared at the man they were discussing. Jorgenson felt uncomfortable under the eyes of the CSec. Somehow it felt like the man was holding him directly responsible for what had happened. He wasn't! There was nothing he could have done. Besides, those people deserved what they got for betraying the Federation. "Commander, I am just a low-ranking person in the Brotherhood. I don't have any say in what actions the organization decides to follow through from. What I said was all based on gossip I had overheard. I didn't really know any of the specifics." Ione was going to stop this before her client said something he would regret, but she didn't. This was what he had agreed to do. She also thought it was in his best interests. "How did you hear about the attack at the funeral for Commander Lasiter?" Jorgenson could feel the sweat starting to pepper his forehead. He knew the officer was trying to pressure him into telling him names, but he couldn't. He just couldn't! He wiped the sweat away before he spoke. A group of us that normally worked together were just sitting there talking about how things were going. We were pretty impressed with the actions that the Brotherhood had been able to accomplish without Starfleet even knowing we existed. One of the members mentioned that he had heard that there were some even bigger things being planned. I had asked what he had heard. He said that he had heard that we had been able to get some members onto Admiral Lasiters security detail and that when a moment presented itself, they were going to make sure that the Admiral saw our point of view." (K'Tael?)
