K'Tael' face contorted into a sneer. It was not that he could deny the facts. Two out of the last three witnesses who had come forward in the last few months had been killed. They were also tied to the Brotherhood investigations. With that said, though, the most recent one was still safely being kept on Mars. "I understand your client's concerns, Ms Moiraine, but you must understand that those two incidents were the exception. We have gotten a better handle on protecting witnesses when it comes to the Brotherhood. I really need some names if we are going to make a deal."

"Commander, my client was by no means directly involved with the incident. Most of what your security guard overheard was mere conjecture and gossip of a braggart caught up in his principlies, but he was a small, lowly person in the Brotherhood organization. Even if you go after him whole-hearted you will not be able to get him on advanced charges."

"What you and your client seem to keep forgetting here, Ms. Moiraine, is that people died here on the station and down on Earth because what happened. Just the fact that your client knew it was going to happen and did not say anything is enough to put him away for an awful long time." K'Tael wanted to reach and stangle Jorgenson, but that was not the way things were done. "This is a very serious case, Ms. Moiraine. I am not sure that your client understands that," he continued as he glared at the man they were discussing.
