"What do you have in mind?" saked Jorgenson.
"If you provide us with names and testify for ourside, I would be willing to
say that you are nothing more than an accomplice. You knew what was going
on but you were not directly related to the activities." K'Tael did not
like what was coming out of his mouth, but it was probably for the best.
"Commander, before my client answers, I would like to speak with him alone
for a moment," interejected Ione.
K'Tael nodded as he stood. "I understand, Ms. Moiraine. I will be waiting
just outside. Let me know when you are ready for me to come back in."
Ione nodded before watching the Chief of Security depart. Once the doors shushed close, she turned to her client and started. "Mr. Jorgenson, this is very serious. I need you to tell me how you got the information Mr. K'Tael is talking about, and I need you to honestly tell me how involved you are.
Jorgenson was still quite nervous about what the hard tone the K'Tael had taken earlier. He was willing to say or do anything it would take to make sure that he did not spend the rest of his life in a penal colony in New Zealand or some other dread location. The sweat was bubbling up on his forehead and he wiped it off. "Uh ... well ... I had a bit of an idea about it beforehand, Ms. Moiraine."
<I am not going to play this game,> thought Ione to herself. "Mr. Jorgenson, I am going to need quite a bit more if I am going to be able to make sure that you are going to get out of prison someday. "Why don't you start by telling me when you first heard about the incident that was going to take place on the planet."
Jorgenson froze for a minute. It was clear that thinking about the answer was taking quite a bit of effort. "I think it was about three weeks ago."
"But that was before Admiral Lasiter's son had died," she said questioningly.ol
