>Dolari smiled faintly, obviously accustomed to the question. "Indeed, they
>are not exactly subtle, are they? When I was sent to make first contact
>with the Borg, they did what they normally do and assimilated my ship and
>its entire crew, myself included. However, Borg continuity and order began
>to break down on the vessel we were on. Borg assimilation technology is
>incompatible with the Venasian telepathic mind, Captain, and they were
>forced to disconnect us from the collective. They agreed to keep me in my
>originally intended role as an ambassador. Do not worry, Captain. The
>implants are completely separate from the collective. It was simply too
>dangerous to remove them completely."
>
>"That is comforting. Fortunate for us that you were able to properly
>resist the collective. Otherwise we would not have your company this
>evening."

Dolari acknowledged the compliment. "Thank you, Captain. We are also
pleased, although it was not so much a conscious effort to resist the Borg
than a physiological incompatibility that ultimately saved us, so we cannot
take much credit. Even now, I believe the Borg are attempting to adapt
their assimilation methods. The implants were somewhat cumbersome at first,
but I did get used to them. In some ways, they even enhanced my physical
well-being."

"Let us just hope that nature will sontinue to out match them.", Moore answered.

The cultural attache' spoke up then. "Perhaps you could tell us a little
about your ship, Captain. This is my first time aboard a Starfleet vessel."

"The Carey is frigate in the Fox class. This class of starship is named after a
leader of what was the country of Mexico on earth. She carries roughly 300 enlisted
crew and 36 officers. The Fox class was designed, as most Starfleet vessels are, as a
general purpose vessel. Capable of scientific, diplomatic, and military assignments.
We have just come off a tour on the Klingon border, and were heading for a few weeks
of leave while our warp engines undergo routine maintance at a yard facility.
Escorting you and your party was a welcome assignment, as most of the officers and
crew have family on Earth. It will give them a rare opportunity to visit home."
