>At 1900 hours, the communications officer of
the Waverunner signalled that the ambassador was standing by.
>The Carey
acknowledged, sending them the transporter rooom coordinates for beam
over.
>Upon arrival the Venasians were greeted by
Captain Moore and a few of his senior officers.
There were four in the Venasian party. At the
head was the new ambassador, T'remea Dolari Haryail. She wore the official
robes of her position, and appeared to be an average Venasian woman - petite,
dark-haired, pale-skinned, with the gold-flecked blue eyes and the vestigial
webbing between her fingers. However, what was startling about her were
the blatantly Borg implants on her face and limbs, covering her beautiful
features with an eery tattoo-like mechanical artistry. On her right brow
was an ocular chip, indicating a lens once covered the eye, and
running along her hairline from ear to ear was a thin spiderweb of dark circuits
reaching into the dark mass of her hair. Two of the fingers on her right
hand were completely covered in Borg circuitry, sprawling out to cover her
forearm in an inky shield. Any other residual circuitry was
covered by her robes.
>"Ambassador, welcome to the USS Carey. I
am Captain John Moore, and these are a few of my senior staff. Commander
Phillip Rhys-Scott my executive officer, Dr. Pholos ship's surgeon, and Lt. Grig
my tactical officer."
Haryail tilted her head to all of them in the
traditional greeting. "Thank you, Captain," she said in a voice that
seemed quite normal. She stepped gracefully down, the step momentarily
revealing more Borg circuitry on her left ankle. She held out her hand (with its Borg implants) to him. "I
believe this is the appropriate human greeting?" Bold, considering
Venasians avoided physical contact with anyone but close family members.
(response)
"Please allow me to introduce Jonaseira T'landra,
captain of the Waverunnerm" she acknowledged the scarred captain next to
her. "And my Shalan, Yeril T'landran." The Ambassador's aide and
bodyguard tilted his head stiffly. "I also took the liberty of bringing
Lora R'saran. She has studied Federation cultures for some time now and
will act as my cultural liason during my tenure on Earth." Lora R'saran
was as a "normal" Venasian woman should appear, with no overt surgeries or
implants, and stepped down as fluidly as water. "Good evening, Captain.
Gentlemen," she said to all of the assembled Starfleet officers.
