"Thank you for not judging me for what I do," she said softly. It was a
thought that had tugged at her all evening, and she needed to say it.
"I try and judge people for who they are inside, not what they might be at first glance, Katya," he said with a warm smile. "You may not realize it, but there is a flame inside you that is fueled by compassion. It is not overriden by what you do. It only tempers what you do to keep you grounded."
"It was a flame I thought long extinguished. Thank you for showing me that the embers still glowed, and for fanning them back into a flame." She stepped back to him and kissed his cheek softly. "You are a better healer than you know, Caimlyn Shainenevich." With that, she turned and left.
