Bedru sighed to herself.  Some things do not change.  And the attacks on the
Lasiter funeral and on Spacedock would not help matters.

Next, she asked the computer to display the members of the Council.

(ooc: gm, sorry for this, but bedru's pc's trying to do some catchup here, too.
until there's more for her to do, her pc's taking advantage of the
opportunity.)

(OOC2:  Well, it wouldn't do to make things too easy on us ... ;)! It is only natural that she would want to know abouthte people she is going to be working with.)

The screen on the console cleared to black before being replaced with facial file images of the current members of the Council.  Under each, was their name and the name of the government they represented as well as a personal briefing.

The first person was Plantoc Ra'aj el T'Kresh.  Besides being the representative on the Council for the Aqualish Union she was also the current chair of the group.  She had been elected while the Council had recently been on Pacifica meeting the new Venasian government.  Her family had a noble past and had played a major role in helping her people the occupation of her people worlds by the Cardassians.  She is distantly related to the leader of her people.  Her young brother serves in Starfleet in Special Operations as a medic.   She also helped found and organize the Council with Golan Dulath, the former representative from the Cardassian Union.

Next was the representative from the Cardassian Union.  Her name is Melora Damesh.  Her father plays and important role in the Obsidian Order and, as a result, in Central Command. She only recently took over the position as official Ambassador to the Federation and the Diplomatic Council when her predecessor, Golan Dulath, was recalled to Cardassia Prime.  Prior to that, she was his Diplomatic Aide.  While little is known about her political beliefs, it can be assumed that she is much more conservative in diplomatic matters than her predecessor.

Ambassador Rilg is the one of the two newest members of the Diplomatic Council and he represents the Ferengi Alliance.  He is definitely not the typical Ferengi since he is more in shape and less moody than most of his people are known to be.  He is definitely considered to be loyal to the Grand Nagesse. There seems to be some question as to what role the Ferengi Alliance and Rilg himself will play on the Council since they are usually more interested in profit that galactic matters.

The Independent Venasian Commonwealth has just sent its newest ambassador to the Council in the form of Tremea Dolari Far Haryail.  Her ship is currently on course to reach Spacedock in the next few days.  She will be replacing Tremea D'amondra, who was recalled to the IVC when the Venasian government experienced a political upheaval that some would classify as a military coup.  Preliminary reports from the Captain leading the escort group for her ship indicates that she was once assimilated by the Borg, though not completely pulled into the Collective.  As a result of this experience, she is not "typical" of her people.

The Romulan Star Empire is represented by Ael t'Khllrez, an established politician whose family has been a participant in the Senate for generations.  She is to be considered one of the most reserved members of the Council.  Often she sits back to allow the other members of the Council discuss issues at length before speaking up or voting.

Ambassador James Watson is the final member of the sitting Council.  He recently took over the seat after being appointed by the Federation Council upon returning from a mission to the Ramesar sector.  The seat had been previously held by Commander Na'Tral, a Tellarite.

(reactions?)
