Dulath-was recalled and apparently imprisoned. The Current Cardassian
Ambassador-Melora Damesh-states that her predecessor was teaching at a
University on Cardassia." He waited just a second to let it sink, "However
the new Ferengi Ambassador has presented somewhat credible evidence that
former Ambassador Dulath has been imprisoned due to his political views. I
also received a scroll that was supposedly directly from the former
Ambassador himself expressing similar concern."
"Has this message been authenticated? Has the information from the Ferengi been
checked out? The Ferengi are not known to be the most interested in galactic affairs,
outside of economic concerns. I am more than a little surprised that the Ferengi
would have the contacts to come by this information on former Ambassador Dulath, much
less care about his fate."
Judging from the tone in Lasiter's voice, he was quite skeptical of the
information. Something was just not right. The information seemed to just fall into
their lap... He was also not exactly happy that the Federation was taking such a keen
interest in the fate of Dulath. Years of service under the rule of the Prime
Directive had made him instantly weary about anyone taking a keen interest in the
internal affairs of others. This was clearly an internal matter.
