Lasiter for him to see for himself. "We are not ordering them to let him go
if this is the case-rather we are going down to confirm the situation
ourselves. The Council has agreed as a whole to do this out of respect for
the former Ambassador. The Prime Directive does not deny us the right to
speak to the Ambassador and that is all we wish to do." He looked at Bedru
for a response.

Lasiter did not wait for Bedru, "That answers the Prime Directive question, at least 
in part, provided that things go no further than meeting the former Ambassador.  
However, that does little to answer my other question- why are we acting without 
confirmation and verification?"
