>"Best way to confirm this is to speak with the former Ambassador. Our
>concern is the conflict of information between the Ferengi information, my
>scroll and the Current Cardassian Ambassador's story of thr former
>Ambassador's status. The Ferengi Ambassador's information was a video of
the
>former Ambassador in a labor camp. We feel the best way to confirm the
>situation, besides verifying the scroll, is to speak with the Ambassador."

>"Sir, the Council did not set a departure time," Bedru interjected. "This
>would allow the opportunity to verify the information and to prepare an
appropriate
>escort." She did not voice her own concerns about the council's plans, and
>she was very careful not to state that waiting for verification had had
anything to
>do with the lack of a departure schedule.

>"It would be wise to have confirmation prior to departure. What do you
plan on doing once you get >there? The Cardassian Central Command is not
likely to just produce him for you. What if he is a >prisioner? What
then?"

"I can't answer for the rest of the Council members but if we are not
allowed to see and speak to him, I suspect there will be a major impact on
our ability to work with the current Ambassador. She has already been rather
embarrassed by this turn of events."

Lasiter looked to Bedru to get a sense as to where this is really going. Hoping that
she would reveal somethign in a facial expression or even speak up.
