"I will notify you as soon as she is available." "Thank you," Bedru replied. "The lateness of the hour will not matter." (response) Bedru broke the communication, then she put in a call to a friend in the diplomatic corps. She wanted the lowdown on Watson, and if anyone could give it to her, her friend could. After a moment, we're the face of her friend filled the screen. Lucien Ares was human and was a bit older. In his lower 60's, actually. He had a friendly face the exuded charisma. What helped was the he really did take an interest in those around him. He had been in the diplomatic corps for decades and had a pretty good working knowledge of many of his compatriots. In fact, many wondered how he had avoided selection as Secretary of State after his many years of service. A smile filled his face as he realized who had called. "Candace, it has been some time. How are things with you and Lorin?" (Bedru?)
"And the kids?"
(Bedru?)
"I am assuming that you are calling for something other than personal
reasons, considering the time. What can I do for you?"
(Bedru?)
