Lucas was looking around a bit wildly, as if trying to determine possible
escape routes.
A touch of a smile hinted at Sloram V'nquera's lips. An oily-looking
slender Venasian with a rat-like pointy nose, V'nquera held the position of
Secretary at the Venasian Council on Pacifica, a high-powered position which
managed day-to-day operations on Pacifica, one step on the ladder under the
Council. With the dissolution of the Council, V'nquera's unique position
had become one that answered only to General A'amon. He had caused a bit of
consternation at his refusal to make any concessions to the diplomatic
council some weeks before.
"Indeed, Admiral. Then you are quite a bit astray." He waved aside the
pleasantries. "Do not worry, Admiral. I am Theran, the head of what has
become known as the Venasian Liberation Front. Although, to say I am the
leader is to say that I am more than a link in a very long chain. There are
many, many of us, Admiral, and I believe you and your people in the
Federation may have a mutual... interest in certain events in the past few
months."
"You speak plainly, Theran. That's good, and quite refreshing. I believe that you
are quite correct, assuming that you are referring to the coup and the Venasian
Military operation in and around the Tkuka. Then there is always the business of the
Federation's offer of a new homeworld...."
