Turning his attention back to the Lieutenant, "Ma'am are you
sure we are needed? According to these scans, we need an
opthimologist more than an Engineer, a botanist and an
astrophisics."
Lorenna nodded. "You are probably right, Lieutenant. They would probably have a stronger ability to notice something amiss among the notes, but it is probably important to include fresh non-science based viewpoints because they might provide a different perspective. You could see something or ask a question because you won't have assumptions about how our co-workers worked." Puzzled, Knucklebiter cocked his head to one side and said, "Ma'am, I think you missed the point, these readings show it was a giant biological 'eye' that fired the beam. An 'opthomologist' is an eye doctor. Besides I do not think the people who dissapeared were willing or experimenting on something given the odds." "That does not mean that they did not come across readings that may have
foreshadowed what was going to happen. Jan Howser was studying that region
of Jupiter when they identified the abnormality. If we can identify some
early signs of what was going to come, then we might be able to start a
hypothesis as to what happened."
