>"Well, sir, there are three reasons actually. For starters Commander
>M'Rrenn trusted you, and he was a very good man. Second, Admiral Lasiter
>said that to ensure that he did not influence the anticorruption
>investigation, that I was to send all reports to Admiral t'Llhweiir and
>yourself. Thirdly, to answer the unasked question why not Admiral
>t'Llhweiir, well it's like this. I know that the CinC trusts you. He
>appreciates your judgement and unique point of view. Admiral t'Llhweiir
>has her hands full with running Intell and serving as acting chief of staff."

She leaned back, curiosity satisfied. It made sense, but she was still a
little suspicious. He was a Garibaldi, and blood often ran thicker than
duty. She would keep that to herself, though, until she could dig up a
little info on him. "All rrright. I am awarrre that therrre have been
suspicious activities taking place within Starrrfleet, especially among the
morrre distant outposts and cerrrtain fleets. I am also awarrre of the
possibility of the link to a forrreign goverrrnment, although I had not
hearrrd the Bajorrrans named before, except as one of severrral
possibilities. And I was not awarrre it rrran so high up. Tell me
morrre. One does not go afterrr a high rrranking and powerrrful
Starrrfleet officerrr without harrrrd prrroof." Kit was also aware that
this could be a trap, to lure her into acting rashly, and opening the door
to an investigation. She trusted almost no one in Starfleet anymore.

"What made me look into my Uncle was some of the complaints that I have heard
about his position, and the orders that he has been issuing in the name of
Special Projects. Starships being put on classified missions with little or
zero information about these missions being given to the fleet or squadron
commands that the starship is assigned to. He has ordered the transfer of
Starfleet surplus material from fleet yards and storage depots. Only I haven't
found any record of the material actually getting anywhere. It just keeps
moving around. His authority pretty much goes unchecked, as he operates under
the authority of the CinC. I don't suspect that Admiral Lasiter is doing
anything illegal, but I fear that the leeway and authority that my uncle has
been granted, is being used for people and purposes that it was never intended.
I am not sure how to proceed, and not sure how to approach Admiral Lasiter
about the situation. I definately don't want to approach my uncle, because if
he is guilty, which I the evidence suggests, I don't want to give him time to
cover things up."
