Chase almost felt bad for Jaime. He remembered what it was like when
he first started in the cell. It wasn't easy. He still couldn't say
that Richard really trusted him. "The good thing is that it gives us a
chance to really impress him."
"I'd be satisfied if he'd just cut me some slack. He only puts up with
me because he needs James."
Chase laughed. "I wouldn't expect him to lighten up any time soon. I
have been with him for four years, and he still doesn't treat me much
better than he does you." He placed his napkin on his plate since he
was finished eating and lean back. "He is also more impressed with you
than you think. You wouldn't be a part of the team or sent on any
missions unles she thought you could handle it."
Jaime's _expression_ said how little she believed that. "Actually, I wondered if he wasn't hoping I'd get caught."(reply)
