don't know if you're aware but people who try to protect me usually
disappear or get hurt lately. Hope you can dismiss my apparent jinx."
David said with a half-smile.
"I will keep that in mind, Captain, but we have a pretty good
reputation. Besides, it is more important that you and the Admiral
don't disappear or get hurt on our watch."
David visibly seemed to rise to that statement--he needed the positive
reinforcement, "Well than here's the rest of the security complement."
He
looked at Jackson, "Sir, is Commander Kirk joining us?"
Jared could see that David gained confidence in the conversation. "She
is. She should be along any minute."
