and it brought my system to a screeching halt. Mail barely dripped through. There were no errors and no lost mail, it just took forever to process mail. Has anyone else experienced this?

If you don't have large quantities of free ram and CPU, don't install any of the 'large" add-on rulesets. If you do add any of them, use top or a similar command to keep an eye on swapfile and CPU loads.


SA blacklist is a 1.5mb .cf file, which makes it one of the "huge" rulesets (it's bigger than the entire default ruleset for 2.63)
