The kyb's cant handle spring rates higher than stock.... you wont be able to
run a spring that makes a noticeable difference in handling with that shock,
without it being underdamped. Hell, the 17.5mm rear sway bar is too much
for the kyb's.

There are several issues at hand with the saturn suspension. Public enemy
number one is the mcpherson struts - they offer very poor camber and toe
control under hard cornering, especially with r-tires, but you can work
around that. You'll need to install stiffer poly bushings all the way
around (they may haave to be custom made unless energy suspension finally
pulled the stick out of their ass and are selling a set). You'll then need
a set of shocks - thats the big part of the picture. If you are looking for
a road race setup, you will have springs in the 300-600(front)/400-900(rear)
range depending on what works. Start low, work up higher. In order to run
a spring rate that high you will most likely need a set of re-valved koni
shocks. They're not cheap, but they work. In order to use those, you can
source some carerra housings (good luck), or have a machine shop build you a
set of shock housings. Its just a tube with a threaded top and a bracket
welded to the bottom, essentially. But without the shocks the car will
handle like absolute shit. I would call tri-point engineering out in
california - they will charge alot of $$ but they will make you a quality
setup. I'm sure they could find a set of ground control sleeves that will
work for your app as well.
