Hi PC-Man Jon,

how did u find out there are so many hams ? Actually i am one of them too
:-)

Just like you, i was born a bit too late to hear the "great days", hihi,
when i read the reports at the Internet it looks a lot like this had been
times of lots of traffic. Maybe you young people (and older people of say
the 24-27 year old range) missed the best (Dont think that i want the STASI
in former east germany back or something like that:-) !

For receiving, the best rig to start might be a good (PLL-Synthesized) world
band receiver with AM/SSB reception or a Communications receiver for the HF
frequencies (3-30 MHz).
There is a Number station Database, where you can look up used frequencies
and try to receive transmissions, or if you find a new one you can enter it
into the database!

Greetings from Germany,
Hendrik.
