OK, try this: draw a 2x2 tile ceiling in some scale, make an x in one 2x2 box for the diffuser & a dot in any adjacent box for the sprinkler, then draw a circle with a 12" radius from edge. Try and draw that and email me the drawing ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) so I can properly visualize it. I would draw that myself but I can't follow my own directions. Some AHJ looking up at a 2x2 HVAC outlet has not a clue as to whether it is connected to a 4" duct, 6" duct, 8" duct, etc, he sees a square grill like device.
